Congratulations, UAB Choir: Alabama AMEA Performance
Great news: we've been asked to sing for the Alabama Music Educator's Association on Friday morning, January 23 on the morning session.
I'm told it is a prestigious slot, right after the keynote address.

This I can believe.
Choral Music is my passion you know.
Starbucks is a lesser passion, but still a passion.
Here's some interesting news that resonates with me:

Full story.
Now that Starbucks Corp. has disclosed the 600 locations it wants to shutter, a phenomenon is taking hold: the Save Our Starbucks campaign.
In towns as small as Bloomfield, N.M., and metropolises as large as New York, customers and city officials are starting to write letters, place phone calls, circulate petitions and otherwise plead with the coffee company to change its mind.
"Now that it's going away, we're devastated,"

This Old Church
I happened to visit the Natchez Democrat today . . . my home town newspaper.
Was saddened to see a story on the continued decline of the church where I used to worship pictured here.
It's a sad little story. They entitled it "Silent Sledgehammer: FBC, Arlington left to demolish themselves."
I loved that old church. I visited home the other day and went inside the deteriorating building. It was a bit of a risk . . . the building is in terrible shape. I stood on the basement floor and looked out the roof. I saw where I used to attend Sunday School (basement) and where I attended worship services as a small boy (first floor) and then saw the balcony where I used to watch the organist play.
It's sad to see it in such bad shape.

Life is going to be pretty busy from July 7 - July 28. This blog won't be dead, but I won't be posting regularly . . . unless I post regularly. Know what I mean?
