This Old Church

I happened to visit the Natchez Democrat today . . . my home town newspaper.

Was saddened to see a story on the continued decline of the church where I used to worship pictured here.

It's a sad little story. They entitled it "Silent Sledgehammer: FBC, Arlington left to demolish themselves."

I loved that old church. I visited home the other day and went inside the deteriorating building. It was a bit of a risk . . . the building is in terrible shape. I stood on the basement floor and looked out the roof. I saw where I used to attend Sunday School (basement) and where I attended worship services as a small boy (first floor) and then saw the balcony where I used to watch the organist play.

It's sad to see it in such bad shape.
