Lobet den Herrn

Text from Becker work:

Psalm 147

Psalm 147 (King James Version)
Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Psalm 147 (New King James Version):
Praise the LORD!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.

The LORD builds up Jerusalem;
He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.

He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.

Philip,

I just perused old posts of yours and thought you might wish a more direct translation of Luther’s Psalm 147:

Praise the Lord, because to praise the lord is a precious thing. Such praise is lovely and beautiful.

The Lord built Jerusalem and bought together Israel’s outcast..

He healed the hearts that are broken and he felt (healed is the meaning, but felt is literal translation) their pain.
