UPDATE:
Here's the additional help, in the form of an extended conversation. I had Laura work through the text again, this time with me making serious attempts at learning what she said and her correcting me. I asked about a couple of words that surprised me (sorrindo) and she helped me understand the reasons behind her choices. I sound like an idiot from time to time, so you might enjoy that.

I worked on this freakin' song for almost an hour last night. I wrote down EVERYTHING she said and corrected EVERYTHING in my music. so there!
Well, I worked on it for MORE than an hour last night and then MORE this morning. Later, I'm flying to Brazil to interview the composer and actually search for the girl from Ipanema. So there!
Well I sang it to my Literature class this morning and they think you're ridiculous!!
