Concert Thoughts

Whew! What a night!

Great job on everything.

We will dissect and analyze on Monday -- for tonight, feel great about everything you did. I think it was the strongest all-around UAB choir concert I've been a part of. I thought all three UAB choirs were magnificent and Decatur did an outstanding job.

Do me a favor: only positive comments on the blog. We'll be constructive in our commenting later.

Blessings to all.

Wow! Thank you all for a great evening! I was blown away by your first set and now am (next day) still trying to get over your second set! Will this be available on CD? You are sure to blow them all away in France! Wish i was going...Notre Dame?! I don't think I knew that! That's worth 3 grand right there! Not only are you all so talented, you are all so good-looking! I love how happy you all look while you perform, you too, Dr. C! It really rubs off on the audience. Bon Voyage!

While I was sitting in the pews at rehearsal today, I couldn't help but ponder over some of the comments mentioned in class and on the blog over the past few weeks. Experiencing the choir as a bystander made me realize just how different our experience is from those sitting in the audience. We're like the inner workings of a clock, each piece needing to fit perfectly into the next piece for the clock to function properly. Only we can't see the end product, the face of the clock, the time. We only see and hear those directly by us. Only those who are on the outside can truly experience the product of our hard work. We are the harshest judges, yet we're the only ones who can't truly hear ourselves.
