How to Talk to a Professor

Interesting article here: How to Talk to a Professor.

Here is my favorite:

5. Ending the conversation can be tricky. Some professors will wrap things up for you, while others will be happy to just keep talking. In other words, a signal that you’re “dismissed” may not be coming. So don’t hesitate to take the initiative in bringing the conversation to an end, especially if you have other obligations.

Because there were always such complicated rules for talking to professors, I usually just avoid talking to them at all.

I find that Dr. Copeland is the king of ending conversations. You can tell when the end is coming from miles away. There is that split second of awkward silence, and you know that you've worn out your welcome hahaha

I've found Charles to be an extremely observant student.

On second thought, if Charles can see the end coming from miles away, why doesn't he gettheheckoutofmyoffice before the awkward silence?

Or you could get distracted by a shiny object and wander off in the middle of a conversation like I think I did today.
