Europe a NO

I pulled the plug today.

We weren't going to have a balanced choir, so I stopped everything.

The good news: no deposits will be lost from students and our $500 tour deposit can be carried over until next year.

I'd like to begin planning for a May 2008 trip. We'll discuss when the new semester begins.

As for this year, I'm going to talk with Dr. Reynolds about a recruiting trip in Alabama and a fun concert trip to someplace like Chicago.

we should visit Thompson. the only people who recruit there musically are the Montevallo-ans, and we have a nice bunch of 2nd altoes graduating this year, i think.

I think an Alabama High School tour of some sort would be nice.

We could hit up some good feeding schools like Decatur (Currently has 4 alumni in UAB Choir I think..and I have some that I'm in talks with currently about coming in the next few years. I'm hoping to convince Mary
Catherine for next year and my brother the year after that..there are other great singers as well). While in Decatur it would be easy to do an Austin High School performance as its just across town. I think Bob Jones would be a great choice as well. I know Hartselle has a really strong program. I would just like to see more recruiting done in North Alabama.

Chicago would be awesome for a trip, as long as we don't go to Orlando I'll be fine. EVERYBODY goes to Orlando. I used to live about 45 minutes from Chicago and it's a great place to visit, and its not quite as hustle and bustle as some places like New York.

Lol that's my two-cents...not that it matters all that much...but yeah...

Chicago would be fun. Just be sure to avoid the weekend of May 19th (Sawardecker-Williams wedding)!

Perhaps you could get us in to sing at St. John Cantius. Check out their music program: http://www.cantius.org/Music2006-2007.htm

Awwww! I REALLY wanted to go. Is it definitely a no? What if people learned new parts. I'd sing something different if you need me to. Oh and is Saturday a dress rehearsal? I didn't know.
